For those people that like reddit sports streaming addons such as Pro Sport or Sports Hub, the Sparkle Kodi addon is a worthy alternative to them and addition to your Kodi setup.
Sparkle, like Pro Sport, pulls streaming media files off of specific subreddits that are dedicated to online sports streams found on the public internet. It sorts content by subreddit name, which are organized by sports. The following subreddits are listed:
- MMA Streams
- NFL Streams
- NBA Streams
- NCAA BBall Streams
- CFB Streams
- NHL Streams
- Puck Streams
- MLB Streams
- Soccer Streams
- Tennis Streams
- Boxing Streams
- Rugby Streams
- Motor Sports Streams
- Live TV LInks
- TV Network Search
- Channel Streams
Inside each of the categories are separate listings for each game or event showing. One nice feature about Sparkle is that it shows the start time of the event and also how many streams are found inside of the listing.
Heading into the game listing will bring you individual links that can be a little confusing because they are just random letters and numbers. These are acestream links: special IPTV live streams that use the acestream driver to decode and present the links in your Kodi media center.
Acestream Kodi Risks
Because you share your connection with others when you view acestream links, your internet service provider (ISP) and others can detect that you are streaming and see information about your connection. Depending where you live, some ISPs are vigilant, sending out letters and threatening legal action to users. Because of this, we recommend using a VPN to hide your true connection and keep your acestream connection safe.
Acestream links work like torrent files: all users watching the stream share bandwidth with each other in order to share the load and reduce buffer. This means that busy streams perform better because there are more faster sources, compared to traditional streaming files which buffer when there are lots of people watching.
