Vodafone: crucial deadline to get free mobile data is almost here

NHS and care workers only have a few hours left to claim free unlimited mobile data for the next six months from Vodafone. The offer will hand key workers access to unlimited 3G, 4G or 5G mobile data – so those with the latest 5G-enabled smartphones will be able to stream music, movies and blitz through social media at speeds you'd usually only expect with a fibre broadband connection into your home.

The deadline to claim the offer will be midnight tonight, Friday June 25, 2020. In the months since the initial lockdown to stop the spread of the coronavirus, Vodafone has gradually expanded the scope of this generous giveaway.

Those who had been flagged by the NHS as vulnerable were already awarded the extra mobile data, as well as those working as a healthcare worker or professional carer.

As well as people included in these categories, an additional 500,000 Pay Monthly customers saw their data limits lifted. This was upgraded to an additional 250,000 people after the carrier judged that its network was able to cope with any extra strain.

Following these tweaks to the policy, NHS and care workers on Vodafone UK Pay As You Go as well as Pay Monthly plans are eligible. Care workers and NHS staff on Vodafone’s flexible Pay As You Go tariffs buying the minimum of a £10 Big Value Bundle will be upgraded from the usual 3GB of data to free unlimited data, and from 250 minutes to 6,000 minutes.

If you meet these criteria, you need to head to keepconnected.vodafone.co.uk and either register their NHS email address (for NHS staff) or the name of the care company, address and personal email. You'll then receive a notification email with a link.

You need to click this link to validate your email address, which will then activate the offer. With the free mobile data offer vanishing in the next few hours, you'll want to act fast.

Following the relaxation of some of the restrictions, Vodafone has now opened its high street stores. Subject to social distancing rules, you can now head into the store if you need.
