Your LG TV finally catches up with Samsung with these new features

LG TV owners are getting some useful new features arriving on their televisions. The Korean technology firm has just announced the upgrades which add a number of bonus extras already found on most Samsung sets.

Perhaps the best new addition from LG is Amazon Music which is now available straight from the TV screen. Amazon Music features over 60 million songs and thousands of curated playlists all of which can be played for a small monthly fee.

For even more convenience, all compatible LG smart TV users can also play their favourite music hands-free on their TVs simply using just their voice.

And with LG’s 2020 TVs also being Bluetooth Surround ready, customers with compatible televisions will be able to connect two Bluetooth speakers simultaneously to enjoy music virtual 4.0 surround sound.

“Bringing Amazon Music support to LG TVs is another example of the added value benefits our customers receive after the initial purchase,” said Park Hyoung-sei, president of the LG Home Entertainment Company. “LG’s smart TVs are designed to combine everything that the customer could possibly want in one single seamless experience, from live television and sports events to the streaming of TV shows, movies, music and more.”

Along with that music upgrade, more LG users can now enjoy the Apple TV app with this service available on all 2018 OLED and Super UHD LG TVs. The Apple TV app not only allows you stream shows and movies from services such as Apple TV+ but also access any content you've purchased through Apple's Store.

Another treat for Apple fans is that LG's 2018 TV range is getting support for AirPlay 2 and HomeKit later this year. LG says more news on this will be announced soon.

In another major TV announcement, LG has revealed that it's become the first to offer 8K TVs to support the powerful new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series GPU.

Powered by the company’s α (Alpha) 9 Gen 3 AI processor, LG’s 8K OLED TV can offer avid gamers mesmerising gameplay on glorious displays with over 33 million self-lit pixels.

Because LG OLED TVs are NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible, LG customers have been able to enjoy their favourite games with GeForce RTX 20 Series and GTX 16 Series GPUs for a smooth, immersive gaming experience without the flicker, tearing or stuttering common to most common displays.

“We are excited to bring GeForce RTX 30-Series GPU support to LG’s 2020 8K OLED TVs,” said Matt Wuebbling, vice president of global GeForce marketing at NVIDIA. “Gamers will be blown away by the performance on these TVs when playing the latest 8K PC games featuring the most realistic ray-tracing and cutting-edge AI features powered by the GeForce RTX 3090 GPU.”
