Marvel Unlimited is getting the full corporate sunset treatment, and the replacement is not a quiet UI polish. It is a brand-new Marvel Comics app powered by WEBTOON, launching on 16 November 2026 (ET), while Unlimited itself stops being a place to actually read comics on 7 December 2026. The press releases are already doing their heroic cape flutter. Your job is duller and more useful: screenshot the lists that will not migrate, pick a subscription path before the refund window gets noisy, and import while you can still prove it worked.
Everything below is checked against Marvel’s 5 October 2026 announcement, the Marvel Comics FAQ (updated 8 October 2026), and the pre-register site at marvel.webtoon.com. Prices are the US dollar figures Marvel and WEBTOON published, plus tax as they state. I am not inventing GBP or EUR storefront numbers. Regional availability is limited, and Marvel’s own FAQ refuses to hand out a neat country list.

Dated timeline (do not wing this)
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| 5 Oct 2026 | New Marvel Unlimited sign-ups stopped. Annual Plus ended. Existing members as of that date keep free Unlimited access until 7 Dec. |
| 16 Nov 2026 (ET) | Marvel Comics app launches. Import libraries after creating a WEBTOON / Marvel Comics account. Prorated refunds for active Unlimited land on or around this date (allow 3 to 5 business days). |
| 7 Dec 2026 | Unlimited reading and new content stop. Import before this date so you can validate the migration while reading still works on the old side. |
| 21 Dec 2026 | Last day to browse Unlimited libraries to confirm the import landed. |
| 28 Dec 2026 | Unlimited app removed. The cape is in storage. The checklist should already be done. |
Import window that actually matters: 16 November through 7 December 2026. After 7 December you can still browse the old library until 21 December, but Marvel’s own wording wants the import done earlier so you can validate it while Unlimited still reads.
When 16 November ET hits your clock
Marvel and the FAQ date the launch as 16 November 2026 (ET). By then the US is on standard time (EST, UTC-5). Marvel has not published a minute-level “doors open” clock, so treat the Eastern calendar day as the anchor and set a reminder earlier rather than later. If the app appears at the start of that Eastern day (midnight ET), the local conversions look like this:
- US Eastern: Monday 16 November 2026, from 00:00 EST
- US Pacific: Sunday 15 November 2026, from 21:00 PST
- UK (GMT): Monday 16 November 2026, from 05:00 GMT
- Central Europe (CET): Monday 16 November 2026, from 06:00 CET
- Gulf / UAE (GST): Monday 16 November 2026, from 09:00 GST
- India (IST): Monday 16 November 2026, from 10:30 IST
- Australia (Sydney AEDT): Monday 16 November 2026, from 16:00 AEDT
If the live push lands closer to midday Eastern instead, shift everything by twelve hours (UK around 17:00 GMT, Sydney into the early hours of 17 November). Watch the email from WEBTOON and the live site rather than arguing with a time zone chart on social media.
Pricing in US dollars (plus tax)
Marvel and WEBTOON published these USD figures. Local tax sits on top. If your country is unsupported at billing, checkout fails. Marvel does not publish a public country allow-list in the FAQ.
- Base: $9.99 per month or $69.99 per year. New issues as soon as about 3 months after print.
- Ultimate: $12.49 per month or $99.99 per year. New issues as soon as 30 days after print.
- Founders Offer (pre-order): Ultimate Annual for the first year at $59.99 (+ tax). You get a pre-order code. Redeem after 16 November 2026. The code expires 31 March 2027 (ET). You are charged today; the subscription starts when you redeem. It then auto-renews at $99.99 per year until cancelled. Age 18+. Subject to Founders Offer terms.
Founders maths without the cape music: normal Ultimate Annual is $99.99. Founders is $59.99 for year one, which is the “about 40% off” line WEBTOON repeats. You are paying now for a code that does nothing until launch, and year two snaps back to $99.99 unless you cancel. If checkout rejects your country, there is no secret UK price list on the FAQ to argue with. Contact support, or wait for launch availability updates.
Migration traps (FAQ, not vibes)
- No auto-transfer. Your Marvel Unlimited account does not magically become a WEBTOON account. Create a new Marvel Comics / WEBTOON account, then import library, follows and reading history.
- What can transfer: library, reading progress / history, saved issues, purchases and redemptions (per Marvel and FAQ wording).
- What does not transfer: bookmarks and custom lists. Screenshot those before you need grief counselling.
- Payment info is not shared with WEBTOON. You need a new subscription on the new service.
- Refunds: active Unlimited gets an automated prorated refund on or around 16 November (allow 3 to 5 business days). Marvel.com purchases: Marvel support at help.marvel.com or 1-844-362-7835 by 31 December 2026 (Mon to Fri 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CT). Apple or Google billings: use the app stores. Marvel will not untangle third-party billing for you.
- Regional availability: not available in all regions. Unsupported country at billing means checkout fails. Do not invent a country list Marvel did not publish.
- Library scope: 35,000+ digital comics spanning Marvel, Star Wars and 20th Century Studios, with Disney / Pixar content described as coming later in Marvel and media coverage.
Practical checklist before the rush
- Now through mid-November: Open Unlimited and screenshot custom lists, bookmarks and anything else the FAQ says will not migrate. Export or note series you follow. Confirm which store billed you (Marvel.com, Apple, Google).
- Decide Founders vs wait: If your region can complete checkout at marvel.webtoon.com and you want Ultimate’s 30-day window for year one at $59.99, pre-order and file the email code somewhere boring and recoverable. If checkout fails or you prefer Base, wait for launch and subscribe then.
- From 16 November (ET): Create the new Marvel Comics / WEBTOON account. Import library, follows and reading history. Redeem the Founders code if you bought one. Spot-check a few series against your screenshots.
- On or around 16 November: Watch for the prorated Unlimited refund (3 to 5 business days). If Marvel.com billed you and nothing appears, use Marvel support by 31 December. If Apple or Google billed you, start there.
- Before 7 December: Finish import and validate while Unlimited still reads. Do not leave this for “later this month” energy.
- By 21 December: Final browse of the old library if you still need to confirm anything. After that, you are comparing screenshots to memory, which is how fan arguments start.
- 28 December: Unlimited app gone. Your reading life should already be on the new app.
While you are migrating libraries and arguing with a refund timer, the sofa still wants a boring, legal player for apps from Google Play. A certified Google TV or Android TV stick or box is the unglamorous second screen that keeps reading-and-watching nights stable without inventing pirate hardware:
Best IPTV boxes to buy
These are certified Android TV / Google TV media boxes and sticks that can run players and licensed apps from Google Play. They are not pirate hardware. They do not come with channels or playlists. I am not claiming I personally lab-tested every SKU this month.
Buy one of these when: Fire TV sideload is a hassle on your model, you want Play Store apps on a proper TV OS, or you want a dedicated player shell behind the sofa. No Fire TV device is on this shortlist.
- NVIDIA SHIELD TV Pro: the premium pick, a certified Android TV player with AI upscaling, Dolby Vision/Atmos and Gigabit Ethernet for the main living-room telly. Amazon UK | Amazon US | Amazon DE | Amazon FR | Amazon IT
- Google TV Streamer 4K: solid Google TV living-room default with Ethernet, 32GB storage and Dolby Vision/Atmos. Amazon UK | Amazon US | Amazon DE | Amazon FR | Amazon IT
- Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen): Google TV box with 32GB storage, Wi-Fi 6 and Dolby Vision/Atmos, the cheaper box route than the Streamer. Amazon UK | Amazon US | Amazon DE | Amazon FR | Amazon IT
- Xiaomi TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen): budget Google TV stick with Wi-Fi 6 and Dolby Vision/Atmos when you want HDMI-simple, not a full box. Amazon UK | Amazon US | Amazon DE | Amazon FR | Amazon IT
- Strong LEAP-NOVA: Google TV certified 4K stick on Android 14 with 32GB storage, Wi-Fi 6 and Dolby Vision, for a second telly. Amazon DE | Amazon FR | Amazon IT
- MECOOL MEon1: Google TV certified 4K box with AI upscaling and 32GB storage for a dedicated player behind the sofa. Amazon UK
Still shopping for a Fire TV device? Fine for Prime Video and the Appstore universe. Not the shortlist above. And none of these boxes magically make unlicensed streams legal.
