Before Netflix became a streaming giant, it was a DVD-by-mail company trying to understand what people actually wanted to watch. While Hollywood focused on fighting piracy, Netflix focused on demand and convenience.
In this video, I explain how Netflix used viewer behaviour, why early streaming worked so well, and how today’s fragmented streaming platforms pushed people back toward piracy again.
