EE just renamed the TV packages again. Same living room. Different labels. If you only glance at the bill and think “Entertainment still means what it meant in August,” you’re about to argue with customer service for no good reason.
On 3 September 2026, BT and EE refreshed the EE TV lineup. ISPreview walked the rename first. I’ve cross-checked that against EE’s live TV pages so the map is usable tonight, not just a press-release paraphrase.
Short version: there is a new base Entertainment, the old Entertainment is now Entertainment Plus, Big Entertainment is gone for new customers, Sport plans pick up HD, and Disney+ shows up on the box as an app. Not the same as “Disney+ is free in the package.”
Entertainment vs Entertainment Plus
This is the bit that will trip people up.
- Entertainment Plus is basically the old base Entertainment with a new badge. Typical stack for that tier: NOW Entertainment & HBO Max (Basic with Ads), Netflix Standard with Ads, free-to-air / Freely-style live TV on the box.
- Entertainment (the new base name) is the thinner plan. Same general living-room idea, but without HBO Max in the package story ISPreview reported.
- Hardware split matters: the thinner Entertainment plan is tied to EE TV Box Edge (no PVR). Entertainment Plus, Sport, Sport Plus and Full Works sit with TV Box Pro (PVR).
If your email suddenly says Entertainment Plus and your bill barely moved, you probably got a rename, not a surprise upgrade. If you’re shopping fresh and only want Netflix-plus-NOW vibes without Max, read the card twice before you click.
Big Entertainment is off new sale
The old Big Entertainment plan (Entertainment stack plus NOW Cinema / Sky movie channels) is being withdrawn from new sale. Existing customers keep what they’ve got until they change it. New buyers who want cinema add NOW Cinema as an extra instead of hunting a dead package name.
Annoying if you liked the tidy bundle label. Not the end of the catalogue. Just a different shopping path.
Sport and Sport Plus: HD is the real upgrade
- Big Sport is renamed Sport Plus.
- Base Sport still centres on TNT Sports, now with HD called out.
- Sport Plus still adds NOW Sports (Sky Sports channels) and NOW Boost (Full HD streaming, better sound, extra simultaneous devices) on top of that Sport core.
- Full Works remains the kitchen-sink option: Entertainment & HBO Max, Netflix Standard, NOW Cinema, TNT Sports, NOW Sports, Boost.
If you were stuck on SD TNT Sports on the EE box and you live for midweek Champions League, the HD line is the change that actually affects the sofa. The rename is just the wrapping paper.
What the live EE page is pushing today
EE’s public TV page (checked live for this piece) is waving Entertainment for £10 a month for 24 months, with Entertainment Plus as an +£8 a month upgrade on that intro pitch, plus Full Fibre 150 waved at £25.99 on the same shop window. The package cards on that page show Entertainment with Netflix + NOW Entertainment, and Plus with Netflix + NOW Entertainment & HBO Max. Intro marketing moves. Postcode checker and small print win every argument.
Also on that page, and easy to misread:
- Disney+ is available as an app on EE TV boxes alongside Netflix, HBO Max, Prime Video, YouTube and friends. App availability is not the same as “included in Entertainment.”
- Apple TV can be added as an extra (EE has been running a free trial window, then a paid monthly rate).
- Extra room box: EE TV Box Edge add-on pricing is listed on the same shop page. Confirm before you promise the kids a second screen.
Re-check ee.co.uk/broadband/tv and your own My EE / BT account before you tell anyone a number is locked for 24 months.
How this sits next to NOW, Sky and Vodafone TV
EE TV is a broadband-plus-box stack. NOW Savers are the flexible add-on route when you don’t want another set-top. I checked those live the same week: NOW UK deals for September 2026.

Different compromises. Same bill anxiety.
Five-minute check before you moan at support
- Open My EE / BT and write down the exact package name showing today. Entertainment and Entertainment Plus are not interchangeable nicknames.
- Note which box you have: Edge vs Pro. That locks which plans you’re even allowed to buy.
- Confirm whether HBO Max Basic with Ads still appears under NOW Entertainment & HBO Max (or as a linked Max app). EE’s own help page still explains linking Max for customers on the Entertainment / Big Entertainment / Full Works style stack.
- Open the EE TV apps row and check Disney+ is installed if you want it. Sign in with your own Disney account unless EE explicitly shows it as included for your plan.
- If you care about cinema channels, look for NOW Cinema as an add-on now that Big Entertainment is off new sale.
No sideloading. No “working codes.” Players and apps are tools. Keep the catalogue legal.
EE didn’t invent a new TV universe on 3 September. They shuffled the nameplates, pulled Big Entertainment from the new-sale shelf, and finally talked HD on the Sport tiers. Read the label on your account once. Then decide whether Plus, Sport Plus, Full Works, or a plain NOW Saver is the less painful bill.
