Currys is selling Google’s new Nest Mini (the successor to the original Google Home Mini) with a free Lenovo Smart Clock. That means you can get two Google Assistant-enabled smart devices for the price of one. For reference, the Lenovo Smart Clock costs £79.99 by itself. Both the Google Nest Mini and Lenovo Smart Clock are laudable smart devices. The former comes with an improved audio setup that allows it to deliver stronger bass than its predecessor – voice recognition is also upgraded, so the doughnut-sized device should be able to hear your commands and questions from further away.
That said, the speaker still retains the same design as its predecessor. That means it boasts a fabric exterior with four mini LEDs that light up to show you when it's listening.
Of course, the Google Assistant is still the headline act of the Nest Mini – the chatty helper can do everything from answer trivia questions to controlling other smart equipment you have scattered around your home.

The Lenovo Smart Clock is a hybrid between a smart speaker and a smart display. The device comes with a 4-inch touchscreen that can be used to intuitively navigate across its user interface if you don’t fancy using your voice. Unlike the larger Lenovo Smart Display and Google Nest Hub series of devices, the Smart Clock can’t be used to stream video, though.
As the name suggests, the Smart Clock is meant to replace the analogue timepiece you have sitting on your bedside table. The device is incredibly small but boasts a premium look and feel, bar the rather large bezels that surround its screen.
We reviewed the Smart Clock last year and gave it a full five out of five stars, primarily because Lenovo knows exactly what it wants the device to be – it’s engineered to leap into life whenever the moment you bark out a command or question in the bedroom and it does exactly that.
Our verdict for the Smart Clock read: “Lenovo has served up another connected home gem with the Smart Clock. The device has truly won us over with its excellent array of features, good sound quality and adorable design.
“If you're already committed to the Google Assistant, or if you're platform agnostic, the Lenovo Smart Clock is a no brainer.”
